How to find us

Walsingham lies between Fakenham and Wells-next-the-Sea.

Entrance to the Abbey Grounds is at the Shirehall Museum in the centre of Little Walsingham.

Entrance at the High Street Gate at weekends (and February half term) during the snowdrop season.

The Museum is closed Nov-Jan. The Abbey Grounds remain open, admission through the Walsingham Estate Office, 10 Common Place, Walsingham NR22 6BP



Pay and display parking at the Old Mill car park (signed from Common Place and Cokers Hill/Egmere Road).


Coach parking at junction of Sandy Lane and Station Road. Approach the village via the signed route (from Fakenham take B1105 towards Wells-next-the-Sea; take right turn signposted Walsingham 5 miles from Fakenham). Enter the village on the Egmere Road, not via the High Street (which is very narrow). Turn is opposite the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway.

Local bus service changes from 28/4/18

New service 49 runs King’s Lynn - Fakenham. The new Coastliner 36 bus service runs Fakenham - Wells, via Walsingham, approx every hour. At Wells links with the Coasthopper 4 which runs along the coast Wells - Cromer and links at Cromer to North Walsham.

Bus stops in Common Place and next to the Anglican Shrine. Bus stops by request.
