Location filming & photography

Walsingham is rich in potential locations.

In the summer of 2018, The Personal History of David Copperfield, written and directed by Armando Iannucci and starring Dev Patel as David Copperfield (released 2019), was filmed in a number of Norfolk locations including a Walsingham Estate property, Berry Hall, Great Walsingham.

The Abbey and surrounds featured in Stephen Poliakoff’s feature Glorious 39 (2009) set at the outbreak of the Second World War and starring Romola Garai, Bill Nighy, Eddie Redmayne, David Tennant, Charlie Cox, Julie Christie and Jenny Agutter.

David Rocksavage’s touching and nostalgic film Shadows in the Sun (2009) was chiefly shot in Great Walsingham.

Good quality accommodation is available locally, and the coach park in Little Walsingham is available for use as a unit base.
